Sorry I haven't posted anything for my most recent sessions. I am getting a new blog (yippee!) and here is what I've been doing while waiting (patiently) for it to be installed. I have been thinking about getting a new blog for about 8 months so it is hard to wait!

A family full of love - Chapel Hill Photographer

One of the nicest familes ever brought in their dog Enzo and their very well-behaved boys for some photos together. Although Enzo is fighting cancer, he is full of life and just as sweet as can be. It was easy to see that this family is full of love and kindness. I'm sending Enzo wishes for good health for a very long time.

You know when you meet someone and they are so cute you can hardly stand it? Well that is Max- with a most lovely set of dog eyes and an expressive sweet face. And Max's owners are also the cutest couple. I was so glad to meet them!

A sweet Havanese came in during the Haiti fundraiser. I didn't know what a Havanese was before he came in and when I met him, I was so impressed. This adorable pup had a great personality-just really nice and sharp as a tack.

I forgot to mention before that some of the people who came to the Haiti fundraiser heard about it from Max's dogwash. I take our dogs there for "hairdos" and I really like the people there a lot. The owner not only grooms dogs, but also runs Best Buddies Animal Rescue http://www.bbcra.org/ and there are always several dogs at the shop who are up for adoption. They are truly dog lovers there. If your dog needs a new "do" in Northern Chatham County, you should go there http://www.maxsdogwash.com/

Well, I tried to embarrass my sons by putting "luv bug" and "cutie pie" chocolate pops in their lunch boxes. Here is my youngest boy, very happy to be known as a "luv bug". My 13 year old, who I REALLY wanted to embarrass, managed to hide his chocolate pop before any friends saw it, and my 10 year old didn't even notice it! Oh well, I'll try again-April fool's day is not far off!

Lily is just a "bucket of love" -so friendly and sweet- and very photogenic. I am totally crazy for fluffy dogs.

I was glad to meet her (and her very nice owners) during the Haiti fundraiser.

They found out about the fundraiser when they were in Phydeaux. If you have any pets at all, you should visit this store-it's a REALLY good pet store -it's quirky & doesn't have the impersonal feel of the large chain petstores. To find it, visit http://www.phydeauxpets.com/.

I'm not sure why, but the 50% off after holiday sale is irresistable to me.

So today, I found something fun while grabbing lunch at The Fresh Market (which by the way, if you have not been there, it's great! I love their wrap sandwiches! Take a look at their good lunch stuff at http://www.thefreshmarket.com/stores/store_locationsDetail.aspx?StoreID=83 . yum!)

Anyway, I found these chocolate pops at the Fresh Market which are sure to totally embarrass 2 out of my 3 sons when they find them in their lunch boxes. Yay! I think moms have to give their kids loads of love but it's also good to make them say "MOM!" (in an exasperated tone) every once in a while!

My good friend Elizabeth & her kids brought in 2 of their pets for our Haiti fundraiser. Their dog Dooley was unruffled by the whole experience, but Link the cat was a little worried. Luckily, both animals & kids are soooo photogenic and we got some really nice shots. By the way, if you need petsitting in North Chatham county, then Elizabeth is the one for you. She has been the petsitter for our 30+ animals for a long time & always does an excellent job. Her email is petsitter380@aol.com.

I'm in love with Chubby's Tacos! Since I'm a vegetarian, I've gotten kind of tired of Mexican meals of blobby refried beans.

But Chubby's has portabello tacos & tofu tacos that are so good, I went there 2 days in a row! (Although I must say that I felt like I was starting to resemble the mascot in the stomach region after the 2nd visit!)http://www.chubbystacos.com/ If you get a chance, go there- it's really good!

time warp

Wednesday I went with my youngest boy's class to the Museum of Life and Science http://www.ncmls.org/visit to see the dinosaurs. As soon as I went through the front door, I totally went into a time warp.

I thought to myself that it must have only been about a week since I'd been there with my oldest son (who is now 13). I remember thinking he would always be about 5 years old. Oh man, things change so fast!

I now have to peer UP into his 13 year old face in order to pester him to keep his room clean!

Thinking about this makes me so glad I have this job that I love. Because I get to help people remember happy stages in their lives-it goes by so quick!

I will be doing 15 minute mini-sessions of pets. You will receive a free 5x7 and best of all, 100% of session fees will be donated to the Red Cross relief fund for Haiti.

Notice his very good baby hairdo. His Mom Rachel is a GREAT hairdresser who has managed to save me from self-inflicted haircuts-below is a shot of my "Frankenstein" style before I started visiting Rachel.

C is for Cookie

Cookie (named after the Cookie Monster) came in to see us. He is a survivor. He had to go to the NCSU veterinarian hospital (I love them- they've helped some of our dogs out). He had a fast growing kind of cancer. After his treatment, they predicted he would live just a month or two but he's still doing great after 2 years-way to go Cookie! He was a real sweetie!

A Lucky Boy

When my youngest son was a baby, he had a shirt that I loved that said "Lucky Me". (I still have that shirt and Josh is 5 years old!). When this sweet young man came to the studio, "Lucky Me" popped into my head because it is easy to see that he is a well loved baby boy. He is the first grandchild on both sides of the family and he came in with a collection of cute and funny hats- all given to him by friends and neighbors who wish him a life filled happiness & love!

One of my favorite families came in for their daughter's 1 year portraits. It's so fun to see how the personalities of toddlers start to come out. This little girl is very curious and determined (and sweet!).

My youngest son turned 5 years old-it's a cliche but time does go by so fast! I remember the day he came into this world like it was 2 minutes ago- we were watching reality TV (an embarrasing fact) and waited almost too long before going to the hospital. Don't forget to give someone you love a hug before too much time goes by. Happy birthday to my little cutie!
